Dan Harrison and family started attending St. Thomas’s in 2003. Currently a bass in the choir (and occasional substitute organist as well as lector), Dan has previously served on Vestry (2009–11) as well as on the Day School Board of Managers (Vice Chair, 2011; chair, by-laws committee 2010). Prior to moving to New Haven, he was also involved in Episcopal church ministries in the Diocese of Rochester, NY. Dan grew up in the Presbyterian Church, had his first regular gig as organist in a Catholic Church, and was confirmed in the Episcopal Church in 1984, after “marrying in” thanks to his wife, Anne. They have three adult children and live in southern Hamden. Dan is a professor of music theory at Yale and an associate fellow at the Institute of Sacred Music. He is profoundly grateful to God for the blessings of our communal life here at St. Thomas’s and pledges that its joy and love in Christ continue to abound.
