This Sunday marks the official end of Helen Bailey's internship at St. Thomas's. In only eight weeks, she has made a significant impression on many of us. I know you will want to be on hand to wish her Godspeed as she prepares to return to the U.K. and complete her ordination process. Members of the Fiber Arts Guild, with whom Helen has spent Thursday mornings, will present her with a prayer shawl as a memento of her time with us.
Also this Sunday, Carolyn Sharp will be preaching at the ten o'clock Eucharist. Carolyn's time in supervised ministry in Bristol -- and her preparation for the General Ordination Exams -- has kept her away from St. Thomas's, and it will be good indeed to have her back in the pulpit. (The Diocese of Connecticut sent congratulations to Carolyn on her test scores. They were unusually high -- are we surprised?) Congratulations Carolyn!
Our Young at Heart group has been invited by the Day School to join them on Friday, March 12th, at 12 o’clock for their annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Luncheon in the church lounge. If you're interested in attending, please contact Dorothy Pardee (203-248-1165 or e-mail choirdot@aol.com) by Monday, March 8th.
Last, and not least, save Sunday evening, March 7 at 5:30 p.m., for our Mardi Gras pancake supper (which was postponed because of the weather the evening before Lent).
Faithfully,
Fr. Ray+
