Remember the dairy commercial "GOT MILK"? It's long overdue for St. T's to have adapted it to our own use...."GOT TALENT" might well become our unofficial motto.
We can't possibly say enough about the TALENT of everyone involved in the summer musical, Annie. Kudos have been abuzz since late July. But perhaps a recent compliment from a member of the parish seeing her first production of St. Thomas's Players sums it up: "Next summer send me 1,000 tickets....and I'll sell them!"
Soon to be unveiled is the talent of Dorothy Asch and Jill McKeon, who have conspired to write a children's book -- featuring two of our very own parishioners -- and are planning ahead for other such publications. Look forward to these amazing stories!
Mother Mo and Laura Bower are putting a talented spin on spiritual formation for 7th graders and older: BAGELS & BIBLE. More about this next week, but teens should be whetting their appetites.
Food, fun and fellowship -- our family-style potlucks -- begin again Friday, September 10th, and continue the first Friday of each month thereafter. Mark your calendars. "Family" in the broadest sense includes us all. Folks begin arriving at 6:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as possible. The Common Room/Lounge, Kitchen and adjoining play room for young children is the venue. Bring yourselves, your friends and neighbors, and a plate of food to share. We usually end by 8:00 to preserve appropriate bedtimes for children.
Fr. Ray will be preaching this Sunday, Labor Day weekend, and as a departure from the usually Gospel-based sermon, will use the sermon time to share some of the exciting new work, labor, and ministry planned for St. Thomas's this year.
Sunday, September 12 marks our first Children's Liturgy. ALL children are invited and encouraged to take age-appropriate leadership in worship. Please contact Mother Mo at moandbill@hotmail.com or at the church office 203-777-7623.
