The Rev. Keri Aubert (she/her) has been at St. Thomas’s since November 2015. She served as Priest-in-Charge before being called as Rector. Keri holds responsibilities at both St. Thomas's Church and St. Thomas's Day School.
Keri was ordained a priest in 2006 in the Diocese of Vermont. After ordination she served as interim priest or associate priest at parishes in Vermont and Connecticut. She also served as program director for an interfaith social service agency in Burlington, Vermont, and as project manager for the Episcopal Church’s Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music, as it developed the church’s first official resources for blessing same-sex unions.
Keri earned her Master of Divinity from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, California, in 2006. A native of Louisiana, Keri earned a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana State University and an M.S. in Engineering Management from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Before attending seminary, she worked as a chemical engineer, technical writer, and project manager.
Keri is married to the Rev. Jakki Flanagan, an Episcopal priest who serves as the Emergency Department Attending Staff Chaplain at Yale New Haven Hospital and as an Associate Priest at St. Thomas’s. They live in the Spring Glen neighborhood of Hamden. Keri and Jakki have a adult daughter, Morgan. In her free time, Keri enjoys hiking with the family dogs (rescue mutts Wiley and Kelpie) and reading nonfiction, especially authors who explore the intersection between spirituality and nature. In recent years she has resurrected old interests in drawing, calligraphy, the Concord Transcendentalists, and playing guitar.
