❦INQUIRERS' CLASS Tuesday Evenings
The Inquirers' Class meets on monthly Tuesdays from 5:30-6:30 (the first Tuesday of each month) and offers a chance to inquire and learn about the Episcopal Church -- its history, traditions and distinctive gifts. All are welcome to attend, some as a refresher course, some as an introduction, and some as a way to prepare for the rite known as Reception, in which those raised in other traditions are received by the bishop as Episcopalians. Contact Alan for more information! You can reach him here: [email protected].
❦COFFEE HOUR FORUMS Sunday mornings
This series meets in seasonal clusters throughout the year. Our most recent series was an Advent Forum on the Gospel of Matthew.
❦MIDWEEK REFRESHMENT Wednesday evenings
This series also meets in seasonal clusters throughout the year. We gather for food and conversation, continue with class and conclude with Evening Prayer.
❦BIBLE STUDY Thursday evenings
Our next Bible Study will invite participants to explore the Epistle of James both as inspiring scripture and as a call to service! We will meet on Thursdays May 7, 14 and 21 from 7-8 via zoom; the study will also include a visit to local ministries offering opportunities to be "doers of the word," including Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK), Loaves & Fishes, Chapel on the Green, and Amistad House.
❦LENTEN BOOK STUDY Wednesday and Thursday evenings (participant choice)
In Lent, we partner with our neighbor parish St. Peter's in Cheshire. This year's series focuses on Rowan Williams's "Being Christian" and begins Wednesday, Mar 4. For our first session, we will gather in person at St. Thomas's in the lounge. Subsequent sessions will be held via zoom on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 6:30; folks are able to choose the session that best fits their schedules. The Wednesday sessions will be led by The Rev. Alan Murchie and the Thursday sessions by the Rev. Mo Peitler-Lederman.
