Clerk Denise Terry came to the Episcopal Church from a Roman Catholic tradition (Albertus Magnus College, class of 1968). Denise’s professional life has been dedicated to education as a classroom teacher at Sidwell Friends School and as a tutor at the Kingsbury Center. Denise was formally accepted into the Episcopal Church at St. Columba’s Church in Washington, DC in 1995. She worked in outreach through an “I Have a Dream” class sponsored by the parish. She and her husband, Don, have been at St. Thomas’s since November of 2015. From 2012 to 2015, Denise taught Sunday School, was secretary to the Vestry, and worked to build a playground at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Falmouth, MA. She and Don moved to the New Haven area to be near their daughter Amy Sheehan and her family. At St. Thomas's Denise serves on the Vestry, presides and preaches at Morning Prayer, and coordinates Sunday School. Don and Denise have four daughters and seven grandchildren.
