Welcome!

St. Thomas’s Episcopal Church is a lively Christian community of faith located on Whitney Avenue in New Haven at the border with Hamden. We are a diverse community, drawn to St. Thomas’s by its distinctive atmosphere of heartfelt fellowship, intellectual inquiry, spiritual curiosity and beautiful worship.

Sunday at St. Thomas's centers on the celebration of Holy Eucharist, with ritual that is both ancient in tradition and contemporary in outlook. Music enhances the atmosphere of holiness. Sermons apply the lessons of Holy Scripture to current events and concerns. Family‑friendly seating areas provide comfortable space for even the most active children. All are invited to receive Holy Communion. As we experience God in worship and fellowship with one another, we are strengthened to follow the way of Jesus in the world.

If you are looking for a spiritual home, give St. Thomas’s a try. You won’t be disappointed.

God loves YOU!
St. Thomas's Church values and encourages a diversity of people who are reflective of the kingdom of God. We strive to respect the dignity of every human being by welcoming, validating and supporting all persons.

St. Thomas’s Church is located on Eansketambawg (Quinnipiac) land. This acknowledgment compels us to pause: in gratitude for all the Algonquin-speaking stewards of the territory that is now Connecticut; in regret for Christianity’s participation in the colonization of the Americas; and in faith that God’s reconciling power will bring true healing to the Earth and all its inhabitants.

All church spaces are accessible.
Handicapped parking and a wheelchair ramp are located in back of the building; a lift for access to the second floor is located at the stairway.

The St. Thomas's community includes
St. Thomas’s Day School,
a co-educational independent day school serving children from Kindergarten through 6th grade and rooted in both character education and academic rigor.
