Preacher-in-Residence

The Reverend Dr. Carolyn J. Sharp serves St. Thomas's as Preacher-in-Residence.

Carolyn preaches at St. Thomas’s approximately once per month. She also offers resources and opportunities for discussion to lay preachers in our congregation.

A biblical scholar and Professor of Homiletics at Yale Divinity School, Carolyn has written commentaries on Joshua, Jeremiah 26-52, and Micah. Carolyn is interested in how preaching can deepen the formation of Christian community via biblically grounded theology, prophetic witness, feminist perspectives on power, and ecotheology.

Many of Carolyn's sermons are available on her website: Green Olive Tree.
