At-Large Vestry Member Ricardo Chavira has attended St. Thomas’s with his family since 2003. While he was brought up attending Baptist churches, he discovered the Episcopal church in graduate school and immediately felt at home, despite having no experience with a liturgical tradition. He has always enjoyed the parish's broadly welcoming atmosphere, outstanding music ministry, and family-friendly environment. Ricardo has previously served on Vestry, Stewardship committee, was Treasurer for a term, and was Warden for several years. He’s also enjoyed serving as a lector and Eucharistic minister as a way to connect with and participate in the Episcopal liturgy. An IT consultant by profession, Ricardo did graduate work in philosophy at Yale and remains an avid reader.
